THOUGHT TO THOUGHT

THAT WE MIGHT UNDERSTAND THE THINGS
FREELY GIVEN US BY GOD
For who knows a person’s THOUGHTS except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the THOUGHTS of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. (1 Corinthians 2:11-12, ESV, capitalized emphasis mine).
How do I describe my blog? My first blog, entitled “God’s Thought for Humankind”, summarizes the positive purpose of my blog. With the help of God’s own Spirit who knows the thoughts of God, I pray that God’s most excellent thoughts for humankind will become my thoughts and your thoughts too. My theme passage of scripture is 1 Corinthians chapter two, especially focusing on verses 11-12.
Why do I blog? For me personally, blogging is helping me to be that man that Christ spoke of when he described the person born of the Spirit: Like the wind (John 3:8). Although God’s Spirit is unseen, I embrace his purposeful influence in my life. I rely on the Spirit’s fellowship, power and lead in helping me understand, live by and teach the thoughts of God revealed in his holy scripture. I also welcome the opportunity for blogging to facilitate healthy discussion among Christians, providing positive teaching and corrective teaching. Indeed, my primer essay, Pilgrimage to Christian Unity, is intended to offer a corrective to the sectarian direction of my church heritage, the Restoration Movement. Nevertheless, because I am positive about God’s work within my heritage and within Christianity, I sincerely and earnestly seek to restore the hope, brotherhood and joy that we should share in Jesus Christ, our Brother and Master.
